Current Classes
We are currently offering Drama classes for children ages 5-15. All other classes are on summer break and will resume in the Fall. Please check back for updates.
About Drama Classes
Children Ages 5-8
During this eight week class students will learn characterization, self esteem and teamwork exercises. A short play will be presented after final class.
Children Ages 9-12
In addition to the above they will learn improvisation techniques and hone performance skills.
Teens Ages 13 and up
During this eight week class students will learn acting methods and hone performance skills as they pertain to scene work and monologues, which will be presented after final class.
About the Instructor
Basha (Barbara) Gardner holds a Master's Degree in Theatre from Rowan University and a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre from Temple University. She worked for eight years as an artist in residence for the Shoestring Players travelling throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania working with children from pre-school to high school on acting, improvisation, playwriting and public speaking. She has worked as an actress in Philadelphia and New Jersey including Walnut Street Theatre, Society Hill Playhouse and Allens Lane Theatre. She also does voice-over work for local and national commercials. Basha has directed plays for both children and adults. Theses plays include her own works. Currently she is the Childrens Theatre Director at Footlighter's Theatre and an adjunct Professor at Rowan University.
