Performance Space Details

Stage

The stage is level with the first row of seats and is 24' wide by 18' deep at the front of the pit. The working height is 10'. If this pit is covered (most common) the stage extends a further 8'.

There is no wing space outside of the stage dimensions, they are from wall to wall. Additionally, there is a restriction requiring audience accessiblity to a three foot wide corridor on the stage right side for a fire exit located extreme stage right on the rear wall. This door is also the only backstage access and opens directly outside to a covered porch with baffling to block light.

Lighting System

The theater has 36 2.4K dimmers feeding 6 buss connector boxes centered between 12 battons. The connector leads are long enough to reach the batton on each side, providing additional hanging positions. Each batton is 10' above the stage floor. There are two connections per circuit on each batton providing a distance of roughly 10' between connections. Lighting position diagram There are no ground positions and no drops in the permanent installation. The connectors are 2P and G (stage pin).

The current control is an ETC Express 24/48® (Lighting Board Manual) configured to address one dimmer per circuit. The control protocol is DMX 512 and there is one dmx receptacle on stage right to plug in scrollers or other DMX controllable equipment. Control wiring is strict DMX 512 with all conductors connected and configured according to the specified pinouts, so all connected equipment must conform.

The lighting instrument inventory is available as part of a rental and consists of aproximately 12 Alman 4.5X6 zooms, 12 ETC par 64s, 6 Altman 6 in. fresnels, and 2 3-circuit ETC zip strips. All quantities are aproximate and we can make no guarantees of performance or dependability.

Sound System

There are currently 18 channels of sound running to the stage. 12 channels are configured as mic inputs and 6 are configured as line level and can be used as either returns or as additional inputs. All mic lines are terminated with XLR connectors and all line level are 1/4 TRS. with all conductors connected at each end. There are also three input channels at the tech. table configured to run through a DI box for using home CD or other players through a shielded transformer input.

The control board is an Allen and Heath Mixwizard 12M ® (Link to download manual) with currently 12 of 16 inputs and 8 of 12 available outputs hardwired. There are two main outs in the house, six channels of sends to the stage, one green room monitor on the stage sends, and one send to the front of the building. The front of building is sent to lobby, front and upstairs rooms, with each being controlable for volume.

There are four hanging microphones located above the four general areas of the stage which can be moved and re-hung as necessary.

There are two CD players in a tabletop rack for audio playback, one a single and the other a double DJ unit. There is also three interconnects in the rack for patching in professional level or consumer level audio units.
